AOB 5 - Evaluation

My marketing campaign was for a new smartphone for Sony. I found in my research that the Xperia Range is ever expanding and i decided to make and market a new top of the range Smartphone for the Sony Xperia Range. The market is always expanding and more and more technology are being put into these phones. The phone had to be able to compete with the Iphone 5. The phone its self had some aspects that were very similar to the iphone so the marketing campaign had to stand out. The USP of this phone is all of the HD technology that it now contains like a 13MP HD camera and 1080p HD video recording along with the HD display of the 6" Screen. The marketing campaign had to show this and bring in the customers.

My marketing campaign consisted of three different types of adverts Direct, Indirect and a piece Promotional Material. I also produced a production schedule, thought of other ways to release this marketing material. I collected some market research, Carried out a SWOT analysis finding the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and also Threats of my campaign to find out how effective it will be. After all production was complete, i created a presentation to show my product and marketing materials. This allowed a focus group to to view my work and give me some feed back.

Most of the feedback i gained was positive, It reported that i had a clear understanding of the market i was attempting to sell in, with a clear understanding of the bet times to sell and promote using key events in the year such as christmas. They liked the fact the USP was mentioned or hinted trough the campaign. They did mention that my three adverts although looked professional they didn't link very well. They liked how the posters both were good at marketing the product well and showing all the things that you would want to see on a Phone advert. They liked the idea of the lanyard and the t-shirt for shop staff to wear to promote this product. The focus group stated that my campaign had adhered to all legal and ethical issues that may have arose.
